We raise heritage, purebred Coucous de Malines Chickens. Chicks are often available in the spring. Hatching and table eggs are also available.
Malines, or Mechels as they are often called, are a large, dual purpose chicken. Laying large to extra large eggs, they are calm, and robust. Due to their size, they are not great flyers so a 4 ft fence is all you need to keep them contained. They do not, however, suffer many of the physical issues of broiler chickens and by 16 weeks can dress out at 6-9 lbs.
